Duck/Cover

Duck & Cover” is a radio show which can barely be contained by the very medium it was created for! Yes, it is simply too awesome for the FM frequency band alone;  so as-well as being heard across the region on Sheffield Live! 93.2fm (Wednesdays at 4pm). You’ll also find each show available to play on this page, whenever and however you want. No longer confined by that which we once called a schedule!

Each show is dedicated to playing a wonderful collection of all the obscure, strange, weird and downright lousy ‘Cover Versions’ that we can find. However, you won’t be alone on this trip into the musical hinterland, as your host on this journey will be Matt McAteer; who will attempt to explain and justify all of our musical choices. Hopefully, along the way hopefully discovering the exact elements needed to make the perfect ‘Cover Version’.

Each hour long show can be streamed direct from this page or you can launch an external player which will detail individual track listings and links to purchase any of the music we play. All this is thanks to the good people at Mixcloud, which is a fully licensed PRS internet company. You can also stream and download each show using the ‘listen again’ feature from Sheffield Live!

We find a lot (but not all) of our material via these fine cover music blogs; you should check them out: Cover Me, Cover Lay Down, Versions Galore, Coverville, Cover Freak, Fong Songs Cover Lovers and Hype Machine
