Join us for a very special edition of the ‘Bernie Clifton Podcast’ as we celebrate the new relaunch of Crackerjack! on CBBC as Bernie reminisces about his time on the show (and appearing as a guest on the new series). He also talks to previous Crackjack! presenters Jan Hunt, Don Maclean and Stu Francis; plus new presenters Sam & Mark.
He also catches up with his good celebrity friends Hilary O’Neil and Anita Dobson.
You’ll also get to hear about the time Bernie had to do a live line re-dub about the departure of ‘Eric and Ernie’ to ITV and his podcast co-host Sam (who has managed to get a day-off school to record this show) finally gets the big scoop about the origins of Oswald the Ostrich!
We believe that ‘third times the charm’, so we’re back with another edition of the ‘Bernie Clifton Podcast’ recorded live in front of audience who really did honestly turn up on their own accord and didn’t take any persuading at all!
The balloon of desperation has been lost but we’ve replaced it with a very affordable blimp, and we’re still recording at the Showroom Cinema in the heart of Sheffield. Our special guests who we talk to today are Beverly Jacques and Andrew Raftery.
Beverly is a Barnsley-based actress who can do ‘Owt’ and doesn’t ‘Wesh Rand it’ (Bernie made us write that bit). She has been in many stage plays/musicals and also works using improvisation with a leading Murder Mystery company. Andrew is a former Renal Surgeon (now retired), sometime Actor, Entertainer, Public Speaker, Raconteur and all round good egg!
Lastly, if it sound’s like we’re having lots of fun during the recording; it’s because we are! So why not join us and come be in the audience for future recordings (we also have free cake during the show, what more could you ask for?)

Kellyanne is a Sheffield-based fitness trainer and she has brought along her three year old son Noah to the recording today to join in with the fun and craziness!
Howard has gone from strength to strength since his memorable appearance on Series 4 of The Great British Bake Off, where he fell victim to the infamous ‘Custardgate’. He has released his own book – ‘Delicious Gluten-Free Baking’, has become a regular writer for the Great British Chef’s website and was even invited to return to the Bake Off tent for its 2016 Christmas special!

Milly is an international novelist, poet, after-dinner speaker, professional joke writer, script-writer, columnist, cruise correspondent, short-story writer and a previous winner of Come Dine With Me. How pleasing to find that there still is a rare breed of individuals prepared to enlighten the community in these socially distanced times. I spent some time in the distant past working as an act under the name of Elaine & Johnny Jackson. I should imagine that any person or persons remembering our short sojourn in the South Yorkshire entertainment venues, probably has to remember to apply for their umpteenth bus pass. Elaine who is widowed,lives in Hull and I have a farm on the North York moors. We can both honestly say that the Sheffield venues were far more amenable to our sense of humour in the North than any other area.! …and I am a fanatical Leeds United supporter!…but please nurture your very acceptable and unique sense of humour, and the perpetual smiles that proliferate in South Yorkshire…..do miss Stone Bitter!
