Unrespected!

From the legendary ‘City of Steel’ comes a little stripped down radio satire; tackling the big issues of the day with wit, wisdom and an old radio ‘Sound Effects’ LP from 1982 that we found at a car boot.

Join us as we take a deeper look at a beleaguered NHS and Rail Network. Visit the island of a crazed TV obsessed scientist, try to live life without modern technology, take a quick trip to Florida and celebrate the joys of gay marriage (and man-eating tigers) We’ll also discover more about a certain ‘Messiah Dinosaur’, take a quick visit to a charity shop and lastly go for a trip with Mrs Ravioli (who is always a pleasure to drive for)

One thing is for sure; we’re all “Unrespected!”

The Jeannie McGinnis Podcast

Life is full of stories, and whether we like it or not, they happen to us every day. Yes, these stories might sometimes turn out to be life changing events by themselves, but most of the time their impact is felt much smaller. This does not however lessen their importance. In fact, wouldn’t it be correct to say that these ‘small stories’ are the building blocks that we use to create the person we are today?

So how do you tell your own story? Well, sometimes a personal narrative can be made much easier if you create a narrator and in our new podcast; that’s exactly what Jeannie McGinnis has done. She uses the character of ‘Kathyrn McKenzie’ to tell her diverse stories, ranging from the alluring lights of beauty pageants to a descent into the murky shadows of the Red Light District. From ‘Alaska to Texas’ and ‘Irkutsk to Koh Samui’; Kathryn learns from both the mundane and the extraordinary, all the time recounting her humorous and sometimes gritty experiences.

Daisy Markham by Janice Sampson

Daisy Markham sits in her kitchen glaring at a tin of Mulligatawny soup on the top shelf. Even though she’s 102 years old; she isn’t going to let three small steps stop her. She’s even straightened a coat hanger to help her hook the tin off the shelf.

If only those rotten useless carers would stop trying to help her…

Let’s Play “Guess Who” (Utley Rules)

Prejudge and stereotypes are an unfortunate part of our world and can be hard to avoid. So let’s confront them directly and whilst we’re doing that, why don’t we play a little game together and see if we all share the same little petty viewpoints about people we know nothing about?

The rules are simple. We’re going to play four different games of ‘Guess Who’. However, rather than try to guess someone based on their physical attributes, we’re going to try and guess them using non-physical attributes. Things people think; things people do. These are the questions we’ll need to answer together

Spring Poetry Collection

Spring is a magical time of year; when bountiful possibility appears in front of us, and everything is reborn brand new. So to celebrate the start of the season, we’ve created a lush soundscape, mixing classical spring poetry, sounds of nature and amazing instrumental musical pieces. It’s all designed to take you to a place more magical than this…

We also encourage you to listen to this while walking about in whatever local nature surrounds you. Wherever you are in the world, we hope this podcast can help you experience your own personal and unique start to spring.

The Legend of Nic and Joe

For centuries man has been fascinated by stories and once in a while, when the stars align, out of the rich tapestry of yarns comes a legend. This is The Legend of Nic and Joe!

Nic Bowden and Joe Lister-Streep play Joe Lister-Streep and Nic Bowden; two struggling sitcom writers with a deadline to meet, but a severe case of writer’s block. This is hardly surprising though as most of their time is spent becoming embroiled in a series of hair-brained schemes, meeting a plethora of colourful characters and indulging in a spot of casual violence. It’s wacky, it’s fun, it’s crazy, it’s outrageous. It’s about 30 minutes too long…
